Arts in the Schools are generously funded by Mallett School PTA.
Each year the Mallett School supports an exciting Arts exploration for each grade level. Our students have had wonderful experiences with very talented artists.
Mime with Karen Montanaro
Franklin Savings Bank and the Mallett School PTA sponsored the residency and performance of the famous mimest. Ms. Montanaro worked with second and third grade students to control their bodies and move their bodies cooperatively.
“Drawn to the Light” with David Hart
First grade students worked with Artist in Residence, David Hart, on an integrated art and science shadow adventure. Children explored a progression of silhouette to shadow play puppetry through shadow theatre. The experience culminated in a mini Academy Animated Movie Festival.
“Captain Color Adventures” with David Hart
Kindergarten students worked with Artist in Residence, David Hart, on a color adventure. Children explored primary and secondary colors and created work inspired by artists such as Seurat, Pollack and Warhol.
