The Cushing school
Gail A. Saviello Learning Center

The Cushing School students visit the library for 30 minutes each week. During their visits, we sit in the “reading corner”, read stories, discuss current units of study, and simply share the love of reading.
When we are finished in the corner, students are able to check out books to take home. Kindergartners choose one book and first and second graders are able to choose two. This year, many of you may have noticed your student bringing home books on days other than “Library Day”. This new, open door policy was created to provide children access to more books as frequently as possible. Many mornings I am busy checking out books before school has even officially started!
On October 19, 1999 The Cushing School Library was dedicated to the late Gail Saviello for her commitment and devotion to the children of Wilton.
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
